Today, I wanted to try This war of mine, a sweet game about the collateral damages of war: you're managing some civilians, that are trying to survive. Since the game has a native Linux port (♥), I wanted to try it on my laptop. Unfortunately, as soon as I launched it, I got an error:
$ ./This\ War\ of\ Mine GLX_EXT_swap_control not supported, unable to set vertical sync. Extension EXT_texture_compression_s3tc not supported. Shutting down the game. zsh: exit 2 ./This\ War\ of\ Mine
I don't have a high-end GPU, only a HD4000 from Intel, so this was a bit expected. Fortunately, you can force s3tc support, either by hand in your .drirc file, or by using the driconf utility (In the Image Quality tab).
And that's it, you should now be able to play.
