Title: I gave a talk at Telecom SudParis
Date: 2015-04-16

Thanks to [Hydraze]( https://twitter.com/hydraze ) who invited me,
I gave a one-hour talk for [MiNET]( https://conference.minet.net/#introduction--la-rtro-ingnierie )
(The website is [minet.net]( http://minet.net ) and not [minet.ru]( http://minet.ru),
[minet.tv]( http://minet.tv ) nor [minet.fr]( http://minet.fr )),
at [Telecom SudParis]( http://www.telecom-sudparis.eu/en_accueil.html ),
among great people like [fo0]( https://twitter.com/fo0_ ), [tomchop]( https://twitter.com/tomchop_ ),
[A. Bonnefoi]( http://countzero.info )
(amazing talk about GSM), [Sebdraven]( https://twitter.com/Sebdraven ) and
[FliegenEinhorn]( https://twitter.com/FliegenEinhorn ). It was really great,
and the organization was really stunning!

Mine was a quick introduction to reverse engineering,
about why it's cool and why people should do it,
with two demos:

- How to play [Age of Empire]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Empires_%28video_game%29 ) (game of the year 1997!)
without the CD. Technically it's not a *crack*, more an *enhanced compatibility patch*,
since I don't have a CD player on my laptop.
- How to spawn a shell on a simple buffer-overflow, with a ret-to-reg.

You can get all the material with sources (Well, except Age of Empire of course) [here]({static}/files/MiNET.tar.xz),
and if you want to make fun of the French reverse-engineering-related terms,
the talk has been [recorded]( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTeHYG0cRcw ).
