[Nos Oignons](https://nos-oignons.net) is a 10 years old French non-profit association living on
donations, dedicated to running [Tor exit nodes](https://torproject.org) in France, to improve the diversity of the network.
A bit like
[Emerald Onions](https://emeraldonion.org/) in Seatle,
[Zwiebelfreunde](https://www.zwiebelfreunde.de/) in Germany,
[The Foundation for Applied Privacy](https://applied-privacy.net/) in Austria,
[Artikel10](https://artikel10.org/) in the Netherlands,
[DFRI](https://www.dfri.se/) in Sweden,

Full-disclosure, I'm part of its administrative council, and the system administrator team.

A *bit less* than 1 on 100 connections are going through [one of our 14
relays](https://nos-oignons.net/Services/index.en.html), we're providing a
capacity of symmetric 600Mbit/s to the network and are amongst the
[top20](https://nusenu.github.io/OrNetStats/w/family/53c61483eb350147079478805df9b02a40149eab1d51b1382140fdae9616eaa1) exit families. To
keep our machines running, we need money: we're [still
afloat, but barely.](https://nos-oignons.net/Actualit%C3%A9s/20221017_rapports_2021_2022/index.en.html);
thanks to recurring donations, but we would like to have some margin and to
spawn a new relays: a single machine costs us, per day, around 30€.

This is why we're doing a [donation
campaign](https://nos-oignons.net/Actualit%C3%A9s/20230529_Campagne_et_video/index.en.html) in 2023: more
sustainability, resilience, and hopefully new exit nodes! We even did a video
for the occasion:

and 50€. Our yearly budget is about 12,000€, and a bit more than 80% of it
